Did Dot really make this basket just for me?<br /><br /><div>April 8th, 2009</div><br /><div>Thanks to everyone for the fabulous birthday wishes! Thank you for the cards, e-mails, comments, text messages, singing, cookie arrangements, balloons, etc...We had an exciting day and we can't believe we have two more parties to celebrate.</div><br /><div>This morning I videotaped each baby waking up and took pictures and video throughout the day. We had a fun morning wearing party hats and sneaking a little cupcake before dinner. We read two new books "Hand, Hand, Finger, Thumb" and "Are You My Mother?". We played, listened to music, danced and partied all day long.</div><br /><div>Grandma came to spend the day with us and she brought over some presents (cute, cute, cute outfits). Then Auntie K and Britta (HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!) showed up with balloons, a card and a new book. A little bit later Dot, Sue and Kathy came by with the most amazing Easter baskets ever. Dot actually made the baskets and they are BEAUTIFUL (as you can see from the pictures). Inside the baskets Sue had bought the babies each a GAP sweatsuit and an Easter book. Boy oh boy...that family sure does know how to spoil us. Of course along with those baskets and gifts came a container of Dot's famous lemon blossoms (a favorite for Paul and I...we actually hide them from each other).</div><br /><div>Then the doorbell rang...on the other side of the door was the biggest cookie bouquet you have ever seen (check out the picture). That bouquet was from our triplet friends, the Cunninghams: John, Debbie, Hayden, Morgan and Landon. Yum! Yum! They will be turning one on the 22nd of this month. We sure hope to have a play date with them someday.</div><div></div><div>Daddy and Grandpa came home from work and we had some pancakes for dinner. Aidan was so funny. He would eat them, but wasn't crazy about picking them up himself. Then we stripped the babies and gave them each a birthday cupcake. Oh, what fun!! Aidan was rather neat about the whole thing. Sissy dug right in and didn't stop eating until we started cleaning them up. Calahan preferred to play with the cupcake and smear it all around. We get to relive this excitement on the 19th at our family party and again on June 13th for our big birthday bash!!</div><div></div><div>Tomorrow we are having our pictures taken by <a href="http://gretamyers.com/">Greta Myers</a>, a fabulous photographer with two year old triplets. Friday we have an all day brachial plexus palsy clinic for Calahan and Sunday is Easter. What a busy week! I am tired just thinking about it, or maybe I am just plain tired.</div><br /><div>Thanks again for all of your love and support this past year. We are very fortunate to have so many wonderful people in our lives. </div><br /><div>And once again, Happy Birthday Aidan, Brooklyn and Calahan! You are my world! I love you!</div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Kristin and Paul Doodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018949893712200562noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-256563614920379344.post-1793640308856940422009-04-07T21:43:00.004-04:002009-04-07T22:12:15.312-04:00Happy Birthday Babies!!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiJKwYJ9fAk37yrmW2zpBBSltKxRplyBVAGQlAk397S5ejoe-OZe6PppflVUwxWf8lTgOoVIJ7B1GCjSjof0E0LxxQUSS9nIEZb0mdhG_G7neYBWcbUJ62GJtCVEzrltJP42zfJxhSic8/s1600-h/DSC00085.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322137258114202482" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiJKwYJ9fAk37yrmW2zpBBSltKxRplyBVAGQlAk397S5ejoe-OZe6PppflVUwxWf8lTgOoVIJ7B1GCjSjof0E0LxxQUSS9nIEZb0mdhG_G7neYBWcbUJ62GJtCVEzrltJP42zfJxhSic8/s320/DSC00085.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLVkR6V6xedps0yIAZPGRbgCUugggVRpEjsgQB4lO9To7iEy2i6FN-G9AYIyi9rfXoYHKfangy-7g9HHpetpyzIrHBNUpZT_OOyUAezbb2MK4UP7WIOBbUJkP6vuHyp-_RU88Y3OF7n2M/s1600-h/DSC00076.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322137254928184818" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLVkR6V6xedps0yIAZPGRbgCUugggVRpEjsgQB4lO9To7iEy2i6FN-G9AYIyi9rfXoYHKfangy-7g9HHpetpyzIrHBNUpZT_OOyUAezbb2MK4UP7WIOBbUJkP6vuHyp-_RU88Y3OF7n2M/s320/DSC00076.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO1ibQ4CFCQs5i7oNYrNSY1ZIQ7Aa1DPmSVFNu49sXenXg_YWPHqyOnLaKgtzR22DiKxyH5kAeA7RiNCihlA3YBUk-1nKEB5QvgPZ-joPENts-N6UNYUS0-HfIzDF3vLa6xWoasKWcsoA/s1600-h/DSC00102.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322137250807881730" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO1ibQ4CFCQs5i7oNYrNSY1ZIQ7Aa1DPmSVFNu49sXenXg_YWPHqyOnLaKgtzR22DiKxyH5kAeA7RiNCihlA3YBUk-1nKEB5QvgPZ-joPENts-N6UNYUS0-HfIzDF3vLa6xWoasKWcsoA/s320/DSC00102.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div>April 7th, 2009</div><br /><div>As Paul and I sit here and reminisce about where we were and what we were doing exactly one year ago today I am overwhelmed with emotion. Our sweet babies are turning one in only a few short hours. Thank you GOD!! </div><br /><div>As we look back on the birth of the babies it was a day of joy, but also a day of uncertainty and wonder. The first two months of their lives were among the most difficult for us; the beeping machines, brain bleeds, open vessels near the heart, bilirubin levels, medications, possible infections, spinal taps, blood transfusions, all more than I thought I could handle. But God walked Paul and I through it, holding our hand all the while. Looking back, it is only through the grace of God that we survived that time. Seeing those poor helpless babies and knowing there was nothing we could do, but trust the doctors and nurses and give them our love and affection through a glass window. How horrible it was not to be able to touch them and love them. How awful it felt to leave the NICU every night without our babies; frightened every time the phone rang worrying that something might be wrong with one of our three fragile babies. The first few months home were scary as well. With a return trip to the ER for Aidan and constantly worrying if someone was going to stop breathing. </div><br /><div>A rocky start...yes, to say the very least! But no doubt the most wonderful miracle of our lives! We have loved watching these three little ones grow and change before our very eyes. Simply put...they are amazing! Completely amazing! Words cannot begin to express our love for these little ones. They are everything to us. I consider myself the luckiest woman in the world. </div><br /><div>Thank you God! Thank you for choosing me to be the mother of these three angels. I love every day, every minute that I spend with them. My heart is overflowing with love and I couldn't be happier...</div><br /><div><span style="font-size:180%;color:#ff6600;">HAPPY BIRTHDAY <span style="color:#3333ff;">AIDAN</span>, <span style="color:#ff99ff;">BROOKLYN</span> and <span style="color:#33cc00;">CALAHAN</span>!!</span> </div><div> </div><div>You are loved more than you will ever know.</div><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div>Kristin and Paul Doodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018949893712200562noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-256563614920379344.post-4536201553943433282009-04-04T20:17:00.003-04:002009-04-04T21:04:34.129-04:00GO GREEN!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAvW6Aytfur4SqPxP1ECeFSJ23gLdJWgD6L2ZLp9yR7WBoMijEAIC0CMaep6vUP3GP9fAGEZIq8tEuFf_NYsRgtF-YWhsqWpy415m0QhESJAMsESXzdVzaPeHrtQhc_1pQ14T5vVSzeDA/s1600-h/DSC07826.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5320995759801789618" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAvW6Aytfur4SqPxP1ECeFSJ23gLdJWgD6L2ZLp9yR7WBoMijEAIC0CMaep6vUP3GP9fAGEZIq8tEuFf_NYsRgtF-YWhsqWpy415m0QhESJAMsESXzdVzaPeHrtQhc_1pQ14T5vVSzeDA/s320/DSC07826.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOhyphenhyphenJieOSlI_7ahFenwwlUgOXy9iq4p9MTQPK1K2kcmqpMtg6P52PUQXn-wR03wXzBriWX0m7Lmc8aCzYdcn7DXlImCOWF_MgTQFlpVQgVr3dDLw2MrSIkgL8JVlqw2nfPircjVQhI5-E/s1600-h/DSC07816.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5320995754838818178" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOhyphenhyphenJieOSlI_7ahFenwwlUgOXy9iq4p9MTQPK1K2kcmqpMtg6P52PUQXn-wR03wXzBriWX0m7Lmc8aCzYdcn7DXlImCOWF_MgTQFlpVQgVr3dDLw2MrSIkgL8JVlqw2nfPircjVQhI5-E/s320/DSC07816.JPG" border="0" /></a> April 4, 2009</div><div><br /></div><div><div>Mommy is a Spartan and she said when we grow up we all need to be Spartans too!</div><div> </div><div>GO GREEN! I was a little bit worried about the people that were accessing our blog in other countries and such. There seemed to be some funny business going on in Mexico and Sao Paulo.<br /><br />I have a whole lot of personal information on here and I got nervous. So, sorry for the inconvenience, but you will have to sign in to read about us from now on. If I have forgotten anyone, have them e-mail me and I will add them to the list (unfortunately I have to be choosie because I can only invite 100 people--we have WAY more friends than that).<br /><br />Have a great day!! Again, sorry for the inconvenience.Kristin and Paul Doodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018949893712200562noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-256563614920379344.post-59764636336745454502009-03-06T12:28:00.004-05:002009-03-06T12:35:04.134-05:00PUFFS<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBhYBfvg5m1DHvAimqee-ald3RAW3FoawikjosSv3bKIYS2xGNAAkw8gyJCLec214Mn46Lg2sz5Y0VpGkLKkcnE6pD6vK0bqN33AFQcUqO2h2_3PFZbFqLt2etgx86NMC2KHsKDV4Awo4/s1600-h/DSC07226.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5310128384715771874" style="DISPLAY: block; FINALLY we are all healthy! Since my last post we had to take Aidan and Calahan back to the doctor. Both of the boys had ear infections. More pink amoxicillin. We have also taken Calahan to an occupational therapist twice. He has brachial plexus palsy in his left arm. Brachial plexus palsy occurs when there is a stretch to the nerves in the neck that originate from the spinal cord and run down the arm. These nerves supply information to the arm to move and to feel. So his arm is a bit limp or weak. Calahan's case is mild and will most likely be corrected with exercises at home, a few visits to the OT and to the brachial plexus clinic. We have also taken Calahan to the pulmonologist where he was diagnosed with mild bronchopulmonary dysplasia. This basically means that he has inflammation in his airways and we will use an inhaler with a chamber twice a day to help keep the airways open. He will also have a lung function test in three months. </div><div></div><div>Other than that...</div><br /><div>Aidan is crawling all over the place. He has a rug burn on his chin from dragging it along. He says "mama, dada and baba". Mr. A. loves to stand up in the pack-n-play (holding onto the side, of course). He still loves to make his monster noises and he is ALL BOY! Aidan is exhausted by 6 o'clock and he is ready for bed. He can barely drink his bottle. He sleeps o.k. through the night, but come 5 am he is ready to start his day and usually wakes up crying.</div><br /><div>Brooklyn has been busy. She claps most of the day. She raises her arms to "So Big" and she just started waving a few days ago. Sometimes she likes to try and do all three of these things at once. She also loves to dance and is a big fan of Anoop. She jammed to "his prerogative" and was relieved when they kept in him in the top thirteen. Brooklyn is a night owl and likes to stay up till 9 or 10 (later than her mommy). She loves to sleep in until 8 or 9; one day this week she slept until 9:30. It takes her awhile to wake up in the morning and she just plays with the pacifiers in her bed and talks until she is ready to get up. She is always smiling when she wakes up.</div><br /><div>Calahan is so laid back. He can play for hours by himself. He has mastered sitting up and he just popped his first tooth. Calahan does not like the crunchy paper on the exam tables at the doctor's office. He has made this quite clear. He is so sweet and wherever we go people comment on his cuteness. Of course, Calahan is a wonderful sleeper. He goes to bed whenever you lay him down at night and he usually wakes up between 6 and 7 am with a smile on his face.</div><br /><div>The babies also celebrated their Daddy's 32nd birthday!! What a change one year has made.</div><div></div><div></div><div>HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY! We love you!</div></div></div></div>Kristin and Paul Doodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018949893712200562noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-256563614920379344.post-53097805600215186162009-02-17T08:39:00.012-05:002009-02-17T19:09:25.523-05:00Breathing treatments, steroids and amoxicillin...OH MY!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8UbuTGMNVU-hdVWP0J9EFh-2iBirH_6NPoOZUmIfEyJG-LsjwpPLlfu5XA59XNTbAgk5WECJCmgWRM7P7MzeYJl4Ns3-uIA-fqoK8zCFBGaRL5ZHF5iU33bRnS_y8jHlzs6rKO-jxuqg/s1600-h/DSC07138.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5303919277519573282" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8UbuTGMNVU-hdVWP0J9EFh-2iBirH_6NPoOZUmIfEyJG-LsjwpPLlfu5XA59XNTbAgk5WECJCmgWRM7P7MzeYJl4Ns3-uIA-fqoK8zCFBGaRL5ZHF5iU33bRnS_y8jHlzs6rKO-jxuqg/s320/DSC07138.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBaEJxQkoYRTegyH8FC4uLQ4dLI3_AzUPI_W8IalV8w8l8JLrjN4n1xkZSgjqzWoYE8hITahyphenhyphenOhCIkAXZNE1LLAkV1q4iJw_5iln01n4qiIZ7maBKm2UEf6Lv7Ehtw1LCtOAoXS38dNHM/s1600-h/DSC07078.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5303917884170413922" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBaEJxQkoYRTegyH8FC4uLQ4dLI3_AzUPI_W8IalV8w8l8JLrjN4n1xkZSgjqzWoYE8hITahyphenhyphenOhCIkAXZNE1LLAkV1q4iJw_5iln01n4qiIZ7maBKm2UEf6Lv7Ehtw1LCtOAoXS38dNHM/s320/DSC07078.JPG" border="0" /></a> Poor sick Sissy<br /><div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_Zp-ycXVr8hgbYWT2zGK5WivsZGptJOA90xWcYvuv9e35sQuKBbR9NY7iVY5YK4RH3Z07qg0gtIRzyXaMM1tLtPrviEehNTSo7rId_NVn9XQMkWq25z7Rr-liqNWU0OWk5Y8cpS0y-Jo/s1600-h/DSC07032.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5303917878691933474" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_Zp-ycXVr8hgbYWT2zGK5WivsZGptJOA90xWcYvuv9e35sQuKBbR9NY7iVY5YK4RH3Z07qg0gtIRzyXaMM1tLtPrviEehNTSo7rId_NVn9XQMkWq25z7Rr-liqNWU0OWk5Y8cpS0y-Jo/s320/DSC07032.JPG" border="0" /></a> Our Tiger Gear - Thanks Britta!<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8J5GSfWV8NpckLabJIDksWg4Sr16U4x0gq01ygH8fW9mVXHtN1MQEdhUt8duJC4N5RZvjisDQ3wQUiP3xq-lcYU54w_vAOQVy6H-oW0MtG9slhFYU8vzqQWeXVAdE0HtS2pTs7pbI7sY/s1600-h/DSC06905.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5303917873788263442" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8J5GSfWV8NpckLabJIDksWg4Sr16U4x0gq01ygH8fW9mVXHtN1MQEdhUt8duJC4N5RZvjisDQ3wQUiP3xq-lcYU54w_vAOQVy6H-oW0MtG9slhFYU8vzqQWeXVAdE0HtS2pTs7pbI7sY/s320/DSC06905.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc5MfSxpLdWQGaAcR2Mco0nCWeKssJiM0UVrSmRMBlBzEc_5iNWlBa-KUcAcyLzXI-enjEBaU_4qQLRkynhTmJVblQCn2ANoMG1UTiAFH0mOOklePWHG_JO60Bp3RWmq9HpZlsdl17dHQ/s1600-h/DSC06908.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5303917867889443906" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc5MfSxpLdWQGaAcR2Mco0nCWeKssJiM0UVrSmRMBlBzEc_5iNWlBa-KUcAcyLzXI-enjEBaU_4qQLRkynhTmJVblQCn2ANoMG1UTiAFH0mOOklePWHG_JO60Bp3RWmq9HpZlsdl17dHQ/s320/DSC06908.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk_fJK6E4tnRq1gYa790_vIPQ9LHhyphenhyphen9J6p4V1Ngys-rPYG1PlOjX98jOSscxA3CLcQYKvC3djIrLQQ5q49a1FRSTa8mqMDYsZBHzVIR5Symo9rSVAIOJIZpeksNd4TjNt0lYb8P3_CV1w/s1600-h/DSC06750.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5303917864661519426" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk_fJK6E4tnRq1gYa790_vIPQ9LHhyphenhyphen9J6p4V1Ngys-rPYG1PlOjX98jOSscxA3CLcQYKvC3djIrLQQ5q49a1FRSTa8mqMDYsZBHzVIR5Symo9rSVAIOJIZpeksNd4TjNt0lYb8P3_CV1w/s320/DSC06750.JPG" border="0" /></a> </div><div>February 17th, 2009 </div><div><br /></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>Steroids, breathing treatments, amoxicillin, baby tylenol, kleenex, oragel, baby motrin, nasal aspirator...these are a few of our favorite things.</div></div><div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div>There are six of us in the house and five of us are or have been sick. The only one that has managed to stay healthy is Daisy (the dog). Brooklyn got sick while we were in Florida and kept us awake for two nights in a row. The flight home was horrible. She was screaming and thrashing around. So much so that the flight attendant told me to take her into the bathroom while we were landing. I had a doctor's appointment scheduled for her the following day to find out that she had a double ear infection. Poor baby!</div><div> </div><div> </div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>The boys decided the following night that they missed U of M and wanted to make an emergency trip to the ER. Both of them were having great difficulty breathing around midnight. Aidan also had a terrible cough. We spent five hours in emergency. Aidan was sent to triage first, but Calahan was given the green light to skip right to the room. They immediately gave him three back to back breathing treatments. The doctor said it was the equivalent of us drinking 12 cups of coffee. That poor boy was as high as a kite. His eyes were popping out of his head and his arms and legs were going 100 mph. Aidan received one breathing treatment and both boys started on steroids. They were able to keep their stats up for four hours so we were sent home with more breathing treatments and steroids. Diagnosis: Aidan-croup, Calahan-bronchiolitis (possibly from RSV). </div><div></div><div><br /></div><div></div><div>All three babies got bad colds within a day or two of each other. It started with watery eyes, then a runny nose, a rattle in their breathing and a cough. Along with this...NO SLEEP! Paul and I also got colds.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>I believe that we are on the upswing now. The babies are on the mend. Getting through the airport was an experience. Lugging around three babies, baggage for three babies and for mom and dad is no easy task. Going through security was a little bit difficult but overall...doable (as long as you bring along Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle and cousins). The plane ride went pretty well. Brooke slept for the majority of the trip. Aidan and Cal catnapped, played and fussed some. </div><br /><div>The weather isn't as nice as we hoped it would be, but we are having a blast. We are very busy. Yesterday the babies got to go swimming for the first time and they loved it. They also had their first showers later on and they loved those as well. Little fishies!</div><br /><div>This morning Auntie K and Uncle J treated us to breakfast with Mickey. It was a whirlwind of a morning because just as Mickey and some of the other characters came to visit us the babies were hungry. It was crazy, but so much fun! Grandma bought the babies cute Mickey and Minnie bibs. Then we headed over to Legoland and downtown Disney but it was a bit too cold for the babies so we brought them back to our villa. Thanks to the Wellers, Grandma and Grandpa for a fun filled morning.</div><br /><div>One thing is for certain...three babies sure do attract a lot of attention.<br /><br /></div></div><div> </div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Kristin and Paul Doodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018949893712200562noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-256563614920379344.post-19855943120099208282009-01-28T19:42:00.003-05:002009-01-28T19:59:05.458-05:00A Family Affair<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBICKB1i8Y79Fvs-FH_iEQyWD9Z3Q8kemShHqom1Re1NvvxceI7TR_OgcPbzPfBEXolUIYIgWhRyj3Wq-T5dVq3B8hbd5NevdAUekUNEx50AVEbxuqRCtV6wPonUEkb6d-uhQPeZddHeQ/s1600-h/DSC06512.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296510652439136066" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 267px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBICKB1i8Y79Fvs-FH_iEQyWD9Z3Q8kemShHqom1Re1NvvxceI7TR_OgcPbzPfBEXolUIYIgWhRyj3Wq-T5dVq3B8hbd5NevdAUekUNEx50AVEbxuqRCtV6wPonUEkb6d-uhQPeZddHeQ/s320/DSC06512.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiN4SI6E25wji4JTFAjMZd-jJES8ArGYUwXu6eUZ3S0u5ds0Jh4X6bCjH8bShG8VilRNn_2kap4Hod-OnAIskjNzyAC_qTOkm59miY_kMwevf00qCHazKtmjiystGzrUkck1VJJuwf80Y8/s1600-h/DSC06516.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296510644283434754" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 264px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiN4SI6E25wji4JTFAjMZd-jJES8ArGYUwXu6eUZ3S0u5ds0Jh4X6bCjH8bShG8VilRNn_2kap4Hod-OnAIskjNzyAC_qTOkm59miY_kMwevf00qCHazKtmjiystGzrUkck1VJJuwf80Y8/s320/DSC06516.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijO-ygVpD6DM_z0PaVEA4dfskVP7ZK8tdeJuBARAcXMhhSuLrK2tnzzX5r0W-mld6I1LnkwqLoBv6omFXb5bXKAzHaFdKiAtEagPZrnJoXFQbB4gCk_6CWvcJPC7ZKLwTi_IMV9eRGIZk/s1600-h/DSC06515.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296510630952138482" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijO-ygVpD6DM_z0PaVEA4dfskVP7ZK8tdeJuBARAcXMhhSuLrK2tnzzX5r0W-mld6I1LnkwqLoBv6omFXb5bXKAzHaFdKiAtEagPZrnJoXFQbB4gCk_6CWvcJPC7ZKLwTi_IMV9eRGIZk/s320/DSC06515.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbTI2mzRd_bfEQlx-tS3QtONzPkLp4LfFsVtmIr4knPDX9NCNNaKyISmoYW3VkqtzRLkfscU0KSFcbA9xdKHyiDukQotAqyXBOf0mPsDDEUsPu-EQgHMAVyTWICqumvdbajsIVHYzHEXg/s1600-h/DSC06509.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296510620612966450" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbTI2mzRd_bfEQlx-tS3QtONzPkLp4LfFsVtmIr4knPDX9NCNNaKyISmoYW3VkqtzRLkfscU0KSFcbA9xdKHyiDukQotAqyXBOf0mPsDDEUsPu-EQgHMAVyTWICqumvdbajsIVHYzHEXg/s320/DSC06509.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>January 28th, 2009</div><br /><div>Tomorrow the babies are going to see our chiropractor for the second time. That's right! We are packing up the triplets, hopping on a plane and heading to Florida. </div><br /><div>New things are happening every day at our house. All three of the babies are doing a great job sitting up and Aidan is seriously thinking about crawling. He gets up on all four and rocks. That boy is ready to go.</div><br /><div>The babies are sleeping well at night, but napping....forget about it. I am so jealous of all of the mothers out there that get to enjoy a couple of two hour naps during the day. We are lucky to get a random thirty minutes here and there. But as long as they continue to sleep through the night; I'll take it.</div><br /><div>The babies really enjoy each other's company. One of my favorite things to do is sit them in a circle and put a bunch of toys in the middle and just watch them. It is so much fun! Aidan loves to take toys away from whomever is sitting near him. Brooklyn is becoming irritated with this and I kept help but laugh. Calahan (also known as "Happy Feet")loves to read. They all like to screech and talk to each other. It is the sweetest thing and I try hard to take in every moment so I can remember these times when they are older.</div><br /><div>We can't believe the babies are almost 10 months old. The time is flying by and I am not ready for them to grow up yet. </div><br /><div>Enjoy the pictures!</div></div></div></div></div>Kristin and Paul Doodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018949893712200562noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-256563614920379344.post-36001168080482395662009-01-07T12:49:00.007-05:002009-01-09T11:54:13.489-05:00Merry (late) Christmas, Happy New Year...<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0mz8OSBJCRnKyZPgjfjli2JB4XMAwq0VoNK3D5gWJBEyyAyW6lEmWeV2v7W0gazVZRhUlAKxP11JNs0wQJXM_Y60onx50qBED5oOHrvwTL1sY49QsmeiDAss7H243YOAUJC3SjqeCk0I/s1600-h/DSC05935.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5289338093251342882" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0mz8OSBJCRnKyZPgjfjli2JB4XMAwq0VoNK3D5gWJBEyyAyW6lEmWeV2v7W0gazVZRhUlAKxP11JNs0wQJXM_Y60onx50qBED5oOHrvwTL1sY49QsmeiDAss7H243YOAUJC3SjqeCk0I/s320/DSC05935.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjILcdrp6qdXNXdmFHcWQrXtdAknmBMZSQEg_9cueABBsJyu4XtsZrIULvchv51tbCOKLXVtyYWbhRGY-x0ku2yY9uU8sf-VGFYjtgz5fI69Pf28qEPwEUdtFzC7WbgQZagOOKlma9ykHU/s1600-h/DSC05899.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5289303257574627794" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjILcdrp6qdXNXdmFHcWQrXtdAknmBMZSQEg_9cueABBsJyu4XtsZrIULvchv51tbCOKLXVtyYWbhRGY-x0ku2yY9uU8sf-VGFYjtgz5fI69Pf28qEPwEUdtFzC7WbgQZagOOKlma9ykHU/s320/DSC05899.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMB0Evy3S3l6ekFHkX0awDfLRC_-gLq0vflGk_mFR093DHyM4vC8UIfucObV-y17enhiAWGmkejiy-HJr_kOfj6sruexjychR6-5yFqtK1PYqDwUsM8VcDM0qvXBEPY2iVgcqdevyn8dU/s1600-h/DSC05744.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5289303250570445522" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMB0Evy3S3l6ekFHkX0awDfLRC_-gLq0vflGk_mFR093DHyM4vC8UIfucObV-y17enhiAWGmkejiy-HJr_kOfj6sruexjychR6-5yFqtK1PYqDwUsM8VcDM0qvXBEPY2iVgcqdevyn8dU/s320/DSC05744.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7rD_ZNv8ObdP9jzX5RAik8eJ5WlTJhf7HAX6JJLNzTkybQORJXf7ymXAKRG3j1SN2BWh9Jveb4fTDfIXcObiSBA93lCytXo6Y7p9XwOhVhi1MH8PzRkPhglPERLDFyul-Vo48oKtRZoA/s1600-h/DSC05795.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5289303246126995634" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7rD_ZNv8ObdP9jzX5RAik8eJ5WlTJhf7HAX6JJLNzTkybQORJXf7ymXAKRG3j1SN2BWh9Jveb4fTDfIXcObiSBA93lCytXo6Y7p9XwOhVhi1MH8PzRkPhglPERLDFyul-Vo48oKtRZoA/s320/DSC05795.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2XV-CU7DW9A2r9TbCDCvrMQki9Mebu800jsmVvr4be3Abe0v2hAM-ntNgu4hQc4zCMrxYlMk6uZEK2NWW8cpCk1hTfMx31qtX7T-PN3j74lvAsKnNzjwpu2SRaYzLp9-Ci5U7ytkuVU/s1600-h/DSC05587.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5289303244400567506" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2XV-CU7DW9A2r9TbCDCvrMQki9Mebu800jsmVvr4be3Abe0v2hAM-ntNgu4hQc4zCMrxYlMk6uZEK2NWW8cpCk1hTfMx31qtX7T-PN3j74lvAsKnNzjwpu2SRaYzLp9-Ci5U7ytkuVU/s320/DSC05587.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div>January 7, 2009</div><br /><br /><div>Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, etc...</div><br /><br /><div>I haven't updated the blog in quite awhile and I apologize. My friend Jen called me today to make sure everything was o.k. so I am sure there are others that are wondering the same. I have no excuse for my absence other than the holidays, 3 BABIES, facebook (I'm addicted), 3 BABIES and a lousy cold.</div><br /><br /><div>Our holidays were wonderful and we hope yours were the same. The babies did well with their first visit to see the big guy in the red suit. The triplets also did a great job with traveling to their Nana and Papa's house for Christmas eve and traveling to their Grandma and Grandpa's house for Christmas day. They enjoyed spending time with all of their relatives: cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Things have been rather uneventful and that is the way we would like to keep it. We have a busy week of doctor visits next week for synagis shots, 9 month check up and audiology appointment (for Cal). We will also be visiting our good NICU buddy, Adelyn, who will be having surgery at U of M. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. </div><br /><br /><div>As for the individual babies, here are a few highlights:</div><br /><br /><div>Aidan rung in the new year with a new tooth! He was up at night for a week and a half before that little bugger finally popped through. How many teeth are there? Times three babies? OH BOY! Aidan is sitting up on his own and he loves to grab his brother's bib to pull him closer. Aidan loves to grab new toys and investigate/chew on them. He loves to splash around in the bath tub.</div><br /><br /><div>Brooklyn lets us know what she wants and when she wants it. She isn't a big fan of the whole napping during the day thing and she prefers a later bedtime than her brothers. She loves to be on her tiptoes and thinks her brothers are pretty fun to watch. Her favorite time of the day is when her Daddy comes home from work. She beams when she hears his voice and the smile she gives him when she sees him lights up the whole room She is also sitting up and loves bath time.</div><br /><br /><div>Calahan is the smiliest baby ever. He is very sensitive to his sister's loud screams and to new faces. He is content most of the time and an absolute joy to be around. Calahan is doing a lot of talking these days. He loves to splash around in the bath and can get the whole kitchen wet in minutes. Calahan loves to watch The Monkey Doos! In December I took Cal to the doctor and he had some x-rays done of his lungs. Everything looks fine. We are taking him to a pulminologist just to be sure. </div><br /><br /><div>All three of the babies are handling their cereal and vegetables very well (perhaps a little bit TOO well). The babies have eaten rice cereal, oatmeal, peas, green beans and sweet potatoes so far and they love it all. </div><br /><br /><div>Paul and I have never been so full on love. Aidan, Brooklyn and Calahan light up our worlds every day. God sure did know what he was doing when he blessed us with these three miracles and we are eternally grateful that he chose us to be their parents. </div><br /><br /><div>Again, I apologize for my lack of postings and I can't make any promises that I will do better. But I can promise you that we think of all of the friends and family that have been so helpful to us and we wish you a fabulous 2009!</div></div></div></div></div>Kristin and Paul Doodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018949893712200562noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-256563614920379344.post-20332033111769053782008-12-13T19:25:00.007-05:002008-12-13T20:27:00.350-05:00So proud!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6N-eKxpWoqpKw6KwzaZJIvO51GBAlQUSOcre8fg-lcomeZREzDcXuIhw2qJtRhZvZL_44cXywXNKCnEvAKtDUVm0WRoaNABtfqbcb6s7jW5Px37sd8Vqo1wLGzxoPeFcDVA9KrjJ_rYA/s1600-h/DSC05983.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279441323456467074" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6N-eKxpWoqpKw6KwzaZJIvO51GBAlQUSOcre8fg-lcomeZREzDcXuIhw2qJtRhZvZL_44cXywXNKCnEvAKtDUVm0WRoaNABtfqbcb6s7jW5Px37sd8Vqo1wLGzxoPeFcDVA9KrjJ_rYA/s320/DSC05983.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRfiUcdBBhj5TBEM2gzRQf617g5CiiQ1gg50kq7tiaoTxde5sAKjWpUidg1WzoXl92t-Aufee8KVLh2G8jwstUtCvhyxW9GBlXXyAi7sRn3e3wdh9L_sOR3ywVPvAgd_Ap1hotc4pXjJI/s1600-h/DSC05972.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279441315773635570" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRfiUcdBBhj5TBEM2gzRQf617g5CiiQ1gg50kq7tiaoTxde5sAKjWpUidg1WzoXl92t-Aufee8KVLh2G8jwstUtCvhyxW9GBlXXyAi7sRn3e3wdh9L_sOR3ywVPvAgd_Ap1hotc4pXjJI/s320/DSC05972.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgisz34vYH4dpZA8mHjamxbSfPIYTAR_AytL2XxSrk1J-ZoAgZ67A1sKAKZN4DIUwTPfz2Qz_4fa1mazgktMw5ZZwd_vC0t4SsECICIGl-AGNk9DCvM1yP-bjOVOxebeVDJnzqz-_GGXC0/s1600-h/DSC05981.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279441307424030898" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgisz34vYH4dpZA8mHjamxbSfPIYTAR_AytL2XxSrk1J-ZoAgZ67A1sKAKZN4DIUwTPfz2Qz_4fa1mazgktMw5ZZwd_vC0t4SsECICIGl-AGNk9DCvM1yP-bjOVOxebeVDJnzqz-_GGXC0/s320/DSC05981.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div>Saturday, December 13, 2008<br /><br /><div><div><div>Today our Aunt Melissa graduated with her masters degree from Oakland University. He is precious! </div><div> </div><div>Yesterday the babies went for their second synagis shot...twice. It takes a lot of doing to get three babies ready and out the door. Feeding schedules need to be altered, diapers changed, clothes on, diaper bags packed, winter hats, put babies in their car seats, warm up the car, put strollers in the car, lug babies in car seats out to the car, get to the doctor's office, get strollers out, get babies out, you get the picture... Anyhow at our 11:30 am appointment they told us that the synagis was not there; someone had overlooked ordering it. So we headed back home and repeated the above tasks again at 3:00 pm. I am not complaining because these shots cost $3,12o EACH and I am thankful that we are taking preventative measures to keep these babies healthy. I am merely saying it takes a lot of doing... </div><br /><div>A big thanks to Debbie for accompanying us. Shots are NO FUN! </div><br /><div>Anyways the babies are doing great! Aidan is leading the pack at 19 pounds, Brooke surpassed Cal again at 18 pounds and Mr. C is a healthy 17 pounds. </div><br /><div>The triplets are learning and doing new things every day. Today we tried oatmeal for the first time and everyone loved it. As you can see from the pictures, these babies love anything you put in front of them. </div><br /><div>Aidan is so predictable. Everyone morning like clockwork he wakes up at 5:20 am. We snuggle in the rocking chair for awhile and then he is ready to eat. After he eats he plays in his favorite exersaucer. Exactly one hour and 2o minutes from the time he wakes he is ready for a nap. But not before he takes a big huge poop. I love this routine. Aidan is so inquistive and so much fun to be around.</div><br /><div>Brooklyn hasn't been as smiley as she once was. I am guessing that it is just getting too difficult to lift up those heavy cheeks. She is still "squealing" quite a bit. She loves to watch Daisy. She likes to try and pet her. Sissy is so in love with her Daddy. She manages to pull those cheeks up whenever he is around. Her favorite pasttime is still sucking on her lower lip.</div><br /><div>Calahan is definitely the smilest boy of all. He is so happy and so smart. The other day Brooklyn was fussing in her crib and I asked the boys if I should give Sissy her paci and Calahan responded "Yeah!" right on cue (Debbie is my witness). Then I was playing back a video I had taken of the babies and my voice was saying "Say Hi" and Cal let out a big "Hey!". Brilliant baby, I tell you!</div><br /><div>We are having a blast and hope that you are enjoying every day too. Happy Holidays!</div></div></div></div>Kristin and Paul Doodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018949893712200562noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-256563614920379344.post-20805795615849977532008-11-23T14:52:00.005-05:002008-11-23T15:21:05.048-05:00RSV Season<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ7Xg_GNp9gvyp17OC99i-4n3KmApvYiNZhCCMUHHlZF5GIFJODfXv2eqO4F4D3maIzdqyowuiyoYjGeyLEDbPHhJdoFNV1LeKgm9sIvCmD1WiuRNb7YafG71guV8V4oXP_JHJ624h7GQ/s1600-h/DSC05062.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5271947253625708562" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ7Xg_GNp9gvyp17OC99i-4n3KmApvYiNZhCCMUHHlZF5GIFJODfXv2eqO4F4D3maIzdqyowuiyoYjGeyLEDbPHhJdoFNV1LeKgm9sIvCmD1WiuRNb7YafG71guV8V4oXP_JHJ624h7GQ/s320/DSC05062.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrLiEgjcU8gzy8OsY7FihevTlczc897xzAlAoVp3s7YaciE9rNuLkUf2JioEJJVkjEG_YZNCYaF3roQrXn2AmkXdP0DcQM-41kKsDDZJlaVX5MEv_ThucUM3ML57zndScWM24Tp9CuhPk/s1600-h/DSC05123.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5271947246252258882" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrLiEgjcU8gzy8OsY7FihevTlczc897xzAlAoVp3s7YaciE9rNuLkUf2JioEJJVkjEG_YZNCYaF3roQrXn2AmkXdP0DcQM-41kKsDDZJlaVX5MEv_ThucUM3ML57zndScWM24Tp9CuhPk/s320/DSC05123.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5gxyc6Pgb-t6rsvALgOpwEgXzMacvcim2FQIJzUnAZKC8RRTyxv28KkXfPQiNnqV9qI_ulFKQ3TOsKYqzTKbhWM18xrHkQuSO20gR0uTDU0mF9fKH4OAruJt6GbHVLqEPY4dbybyKfxY/s1600-h/DSC05177.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5271947229405010242" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5gxyc6Pgb-t6rsvALgOpwEgXzMacvcim2FQIJzUnAZKC8RRTyxv28KkXfPQiNnqV9qI_ulFKQ3TOsKYqzTKbhWM18xrHkQuSO20gR0uTDU0mF9fKH4OAruJt6GbHVLqEPY4dbybyKfxY/s320/DSC05177.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFoBbyy5819vcbOcrEitgjjuWvmSxqbLEj-jlLAHTyIvFukLmoTzd3oih7s1DH4H02fXaB2FYN58U-YoS-FoCXHqy4uMhUJfAYlVfIwuqeZ0Vz4Hij6UrOHWKg7IzKE_V24BSf5GfJ250/s1600-h/DSC04981.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5271947219668312258" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFoBbyy5819vcbOcrEitgjjuWvmSxqbLEj-jlLAHTyIvFukLmoTzd3oih7s1DH4H02fXaB2FYN58U-YoS-FoCXHqy4uMhUJfAYlVfIwuqeZ0Vz4Hij6UrOHWKg7IzKE_V24BSf5GfJ250/s320/DSC04981.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Dear Family and Friends,</div><br /><div>We’re writing regarding a very important matter: RSV. For those of you who<br />plan to visit us over the next few months, and even if you are not, please take<br />a few minutes to read this letter.</div><div> </div><div>We want to start by saying thank you for the outpouring of support we have<br />received from everyone. So many people have done so much for us, and<br />every bit of help we have received truly is appreciated. We are experiencing<br />the biggest challenge of our lives, and we’re lucky to be surrounded by so<br />many family members and friends who have shown us so much love and support.<br /></div><div>We’d also like to share an important topic that we recently discussed with our babies’ pediatrician. If you are not aware of RSV, respiratory syncytial virus, you are among the majority. Most people have not heard of RSV, even though nearly every child has had the virus by age two. For full-term babies, RSV typically is not any worse than a common cold, but for preemies, the virus can be quite different. Babies born earlier than 36 weeks are at the<br />highest risk for serious complications like pneumonia, bronchiolitis, and other sometimes fatal complications. Our babies were born premature at 29 weeks, are multiples, and had low birth weights; these are among the highest risk factors for contracting RSV and developing serious complications. This website offers a great visual comparison of a preemie’s lungs compared to the lungs of a full-term baby: <a href="http://www.preemiecare.org/LungsTrees03-4.pdf">http://www.preemiecare.org/LungsTrees03-4.pdf</a><br /></div><div>Preventing the spread of RSV is very difficult. Thus, we must be vigilant about keeping our children safe during RSV season (October through April). The virus is spread through physical contact, in the air via a cough or sneeze, or by touching an infected object. The virus can live as long as six hours on hands and up to twelve hours on objects, and it spreads very easily, especially from child to child. Studies have also shown that infants pose an even higher risk of spreading RSV to others.<br /></div><br /><div>You may ask, “Can’t they fight it off and build up their immune system? Kids need to get sick, right?” The simple answer is NO. Since our babies were pre-term, they did not acquire the necessary immunities to fight off infection. If they contract RSV, they could be hospitalized and develop serious complications. We’ll be asking our visitors to follow a few guidelines to help prevent the babies from contracting RSV or any other illness.<br /></div><br /><div>We ask that all visitors do the following:<br />1. When you arrive, please wash your hands and use hand-sanitizer as needed before touching the babies.<br />2. Please, if it is possible, get a flu shot.<br />3. Please refrain from coming over if you are currently sick and have not been symptom-free for at least 5 days, if you live with someone who is sick, or have been in close contact with someone who is sick.<br />4. If you smoke, we ask that you change your clothing and refrain from smoking prior to visiting, as a preemie’s lungs are very sensitive to smoke. Most RSV sites recommend against passive smoke exposure.<br />5. If you are parents to a baby or toddler, please refrain from bringing them to our house during RSV season.<br /></div><br /><div>Unfortunately we will not be attending many events during RSV season. Our goal is to make it through this and the next RSV seasons without the babies contracting RSV or any other serious illness. Their lungs are still very fragile until they are 2-years-old.<br /></div><br /><div>Please understand that this letter is not meant to offend anyone, just simply to provide an explanation. A numero uno. A child after my heart. This angel sleeps not 10, not 11, but 12-13 hours a night. Straight. Not a peep. THANK YOU CALAHAN! You ARE my favorite at night!! </div><br /><div>This week I have been a little bit short on sleep because Aidan and Brooklyn have stuffy noses. I think they may also be teething. We ended up taking Aidan to the doctor yesterday and it turns out he has an ear infection in his right ear. He is on antibiotics and seems to be fine. I think we did pretty well. The babies are just shy of their 7 month birthday and getting their first colds. We also went for our first synagis shot today. Synagis is to help protect the babies from RSV. They will get a shot in each leg for the remainder of the RSV season (ending in March). </div><br /><div>A little backpedaling...Halloween was great fun and we were all HAP-PEA! We only went to a couple of houses in our pea pod costumes. Then it was feeding time just as the trick-or-treaters started coming around. The weather was so nice that we fed the babies outside while passing out candy. Thanks to Nana for helping make our first Halloween such fun! We love spending time with our Nana! </div><br /><div>We hope all of you are well! Enjoy the pics.</div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div>Kristin and Paul Doodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018949893712200562noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-256563614920379344.post-13656809775034651402008-10-25T08:23:00.003-04:002008-10-25T08:34:56.790-04:00Go Green!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRQuO1XpSZcQA2Wvvx-g03YL_vCNMqyIqzUG9M_IgDVxpttAJh5QMByCNz257w2dCO19yh40hagTz5nBnbXpZ367C3qomRR9oUau59JnSAba-09KMwtd_dT_okZ1VQ4HhyKBHzqrzjMQ8/s1600-h/DSC04336.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261068078250943026" style="DISPLAY: block; It was a blast! Our friends Krista and Josh brought their three cuties over to play. I am not sure what I expected with six babies all under six months old, but everything went perfectly! The babies were all very good. We watched the football game, ate snacks and talked baby. We took some pictures...I never thought for one second that all six babies would cooperate. Just goes to show how much I know. After the triplets left we went for a walk. It was the most beautiful day! The babies really enjoyed the walk; they were sitting up and looking around. What a fabulous day!</div><br /><div>This past Thursday Aidan decided that he too would like to start rolling over. He did it for Daddy several times. He also is loving his new o-ball (Thanks for the idea, Debbie). Aidan had three or four days of yelling at me constantly. I am pretty sure he was teething. He was drooling an awful lot and chewing on his fingers. He is in a much better mood today (thank goodness), but I don't see any teeth yet.</div><div></div><div>Brooklyn is a precious little girl! She continues to be very mild mannered and passes out smiles all day long. At night she likes to do a lot of talking, moaning, screeching, etc. But overall, an angel!! An absolute angel!</div><div><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"></span></div><div><span class="blsp-spelling-error"></span></div><div><span class="blsp-spelling-error">Calahan</span> is our Guy Smiley! He loves to smile and he is enjoying a lot more time on his back. Wednesday was a big day for my little guy as he moved into the bedroom with his brother and sister. No more sleeping in Mommy and Daddy's room. :( </div><br /><div>All three babies are starting to grab things and pull them to their <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">mouths</span>. They are all ticklish under their necks and are starting to laugh just a little. They are growing up so fast! I am ecstatic with their progress, but wish I could freeze my favorite moments and there are many! </div><br /><div>We are off to my nephew Jacob's 7<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">th</span> birthday party! Happy Birthday Jacob! Also, congratulations to the Mackenzie's and the Logan's on the birth of their little ones this week. We are praying for all of you. And thanks to Aunt Kathy Weller for spending three wonderful days with us this week; we really enjoyed your visit!</div><br /><br />By the way...if any of you bloggers know what I am doing wrong with my spacing, please let me know. In the posting window my spacing and paragraphs look good, but when I go to publish it the spacing is all off. It drives me crazy!<br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><div></div>Kristin and Paul Doodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018949893712200562noreply@blogger.com6
